What is ReScribe?
ReScribe is a subscription manager that keeps every recurring payment in one place. Netflix and Spotify, but also mobile bills, rent and utilities.
Short answers about how ReScribe finds subscriptions, what it reads, and what it does with your money and your data. Each one stands on its own — start anywhere.
ReScribe is a subscription manager that keeps every recurring payment in one place. Netflix and Spotify, but also mobile bills, rent and utilities.
Three ways. Connect your bank and it watches recurring charges, forward receipts to your smart mailbox, or describe a subscription to the AI. The mailbox and AI pages cover each in detail.
Yes, on the App Store and Google Play. There is also a web version at web.rescribe.io.
The catalog holds 2,300+ services, and you can create your own if something is missing.
Read-only access to your transactions and account details, through a licensed provider. Nothing in that connection can move money.
No. You sign in on Plaid’s own page and ReScribe receives an access token, never your credentials.
Banks in the US and Canada, through Plaid. Other countries are not supported yet — we would rather say so than let you sign up and find out. Until then the mailbox and the AI work anywhere, and neither of them needs a bank at all.
At least two charges from the same merchant with a consistent gap between them, from weekly to yearly. A one-off purchase is never turned into a subscription.
Access is revoked at the provider immediately and the account disappears from ReScribe. You can also pause an account instead — that stops the reading but keeps what was already found.
You choose it yourself when you turn the mailbox on — any free name on @rsmail.ai. It is yours alone.
No. The mailbox is a separate address that only receives what you send to it. We never connect to your existing inbox.
Common receipt and renewal formats from major services are recognised, and the list keeps growing. Anything unrecognised can still be added manually or through the AI.
Yes. Most email providers let you create a rule that forwards receipts to another address, so you set it up once and forget it.
Turn the mailbox off and the address stops working. Messages can be deleted at any time.
Text, voice, images and PDFs. Anything that contains the service name and the amount usually works.
Known services from the catalog are matched reliably. Everything is shown for confirmation before it is saved, so a mistake is one tap away from being fixed.
Yes, including mixed input where the service name is in English and the rest is not.
It is processed to create the subscription and is not used for advertising. Images and files can be deleted after processing.
Every field stays editable, and when the input is genuinely ambiguous you are asked rather than given a guess.
It shows spend by category and the full payment history, reminds you before charges land, and lets you pause anything you are not using.
Yes. Every payment method carries its own monthly figure, so you can tell what leaves the joint account and what leaves your own card. It is an average, not this month’s charges. A yearly plan is spread across twelve months, and other currencies are converted. That is what makes a card with one annual plan comparable to a card with five monthly ones.
ReScribe does not cancel anything for you. Only you can do that with the service itself, and any app claiming otherwise is guessing. What ReScribe gives you is the route. The catalog holds cancellation steps for the services in it, in your language where we have a translation. Open the service in ReScribe and the steps are there, next to the date of the next payment.
Yes, though not yet as a feature of its own. Add the subscription with the date the trial ends, and set a reminder for it. You will hear about the first charge before it happens rather than after. Handling trials properly — recognising them and tracking the end date unprompted — is planned.
ReScribe never asks for a card number and has nowhere to put one: a payment method here is a label you write yourself, like “N26 account”. Bank connections go through Plaid and are read-only, so charges can be read and nothing can be moved. The sign-in happens on your bank’s own page, so your banking credentials never pass through ReScribe at all.
